Harry Kochat, PhD

Dr. Kochat has over 30 years of phenomenal pharmaceutical experience in advancing oncology-based scientific breakthrough leadership in small molecule medicines serving for pharmaceutical companies at the senior executive level. He is highly recognized as a champion for his patent-protected scientific inventions, with more than 200 issued domestic and international patents and close to 60 peer-reviewed scientific publications. He has been serving Lantern as its Advisor for Chemistry- Manufacturing-Quality Control since 2018 while concurrently serving full-time as the Director of Operations and Business Development at University of Tennessee Health Center (UTHSC) Plough Center, a brand new state-of-the-art highly acclaimed sterile parenteral drug manufacturing facility. Dr. Kochat’s remarkable leadership engraved as a turnkey in less than 4 years for Plough Center for driving profitable growth of the business and building capabilities needed to meet evolving business needs. Dr. Kochat is highly recognized as a champion for his end-to-end solution knowledge for various drug discovery and development phases from discovery bench to patient bedside. At UTHSC he was also awarded an Assistant Professor position in the department of pharmaceutical sciences for collaborative endeavors to fulfill his aspirations in the discovery and development of scientific breakthroughs for next generation site-directed novel formulation technologies. During his leadership roles in various pharma sectors, he pioneered to bring three oncology campaigns from discovery to NDA registration stage, eleven preclinical programs ready for clinical investigations and engineered three ANDAs. Dr. Kochat received the prestigious CORNET Award during 2017 for his outstanding contributions and collaborations de-risking academic to pharmaceutical venture transformations. His in-depth CMC regulatory experience and knowledge named him to serve as one of the SMEs for FDA’s reputed CDER panel for sterile drug manufacturing & automation technologies. Dr. Kochat received his PhD degree in medicinal synthetic organic chemistry and completed his postdoctoral training at Purdue University and at Rice University in medicinal chemistry and bio-organic chemistry
